John Albert Hunsaker Jr Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John Albert Hunsaker, Jr., son of John Albert Hunsaker, Sr., and Martha Ann Priest Hunsaker passed away on April 4, 2014 after a lingering illness. John was born June 1, 1928 in Bothwell, Box Elder County, Utah. John was the youngest of 10 children. Living in Box Elder for the first 10 years of his life, then the family moved to Rupert, Idaho where they purchased, owned and managed a dairy farm. His main school years were in Rupert. At age 13 John was taught to drive an 18 wheeler to haul hay around the farm and valley. John and his brother, Wendall, hauled hay to the Ogden Union stock yard. John served in the Army from 1952 to 1954. His occupation was an OTR truck driver from the time he got his license until he retired in 1993. His first wife of 42 years was Venna Jean Allen, who passed away July 14, 1996. He was sealed to Venna Jean in 1996 in the Ogden Temple. He then met and married Nancy Lyn Hettman in October 1998 in the Manti Temple. John’s parents, John Albert and Martha Ann and eight of his siblings: Hortense Maude, John Dale, Afton Amy, Wendell Henry, Ruby, Rulon Edward, Marjean Coleen and Martha Ann preceded him in death. A Brother, Devon Priest Hunsaker, is still living. John and Nancy served a service mission at the membership location in SLC. John, also, served a number of church callings in the Wilson 1st ward. John and Nancy were living in Washington Terrace Rehab center at the time of his passing. They had many health problems; but were enjoying the life that they could. John loved driving Nancy on back roads, showing her the countryside. A viewing will take place on Wednesday April 9th, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again Thursday April 10th, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Wilson 2nd Ward located at 2333 S 2700 W, West Haven Utah His service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Services are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home Interment will take placed at Bothwell, Cemetery, in West Box Elder County.
