Johnny Rios, age 77, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, returned to his Heavenly Father on March 1, 2014 in Murray Utah. He was born August 30, 1936 in Palestine Texas to Maria Rios (Campos) and Tomas Rios. He was the fourth of five children. He is survived by his loving wife Ruth, and children: Richard Williams, Raymond Williams, Robert Rios (Joy), Renee Robinson (Keith), Shawn Rios (Joy), Michael Rios (Adrienne), Jonathan Rios (Dalia), Danielle Jackson (Reggie), Remelia Smith (Mike), Risa Smith, Chad Smith (Kurstan), Kristine Burton (Casey), and Rachael Wright; his sisters; Anita Bosquez, Conchita Villareal, Maria Elena Martinez and nine nieces and nephews. He also has 34 grandchildren: Ryan Rios, Eric Rios, Whitney Hadlock, Cooper Rios, Carter Rios, Bennett Rios, Slade Robinson, Gunnar Robinson, Natalie Williams, Jace Williams, Michael Mueller, Menissa Williams, Ashley Williams, Aubrey Williams, Carsen Rios, Bayliss Rios, Hudson Rios, Sloan Rios, Raquel Rios, Sophia Rios, Nathan Sandoval, Anthony Rios, Sean Rios, Preslee Jackson, Kylee Jackson, McCoy Jackson, Sebastian Smith-Dion, Athena Shurtleff, Sahara Smith, Phoenix Fritz, Echo Southard, Collyn Smith, Evy Smith, Ezra Smith. He married Ruth Wright in the LDS Mount Timpanogas Temple for time and all eternity in 1998. John grew up in Palestine Texas and joined the United States Air Force. He is a retired Master Sergeant, serving from 1954-1974. He was married to Beverly Wilkinson from 1964-1986. He received his Bachelors degree from the University of Redlands in 1981 and his Masters degree from Websters University in 2003. John retired from Unisys Corporation in 1987 and also retired from Corinthian College in 2008. John was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1967 and a faithful member throughout the remainder of his life and diligently served as a Branch President, member of the High Council, and member of the Bishopric. John enjoyed spending time with his large family, reading, studying the gospel and going to movies with his wife and grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents; Maria and Tomas Rios, and his sister Cruzita Garcia. Funeral services will be held Friday March 7, 2014 at 10 am at the Midvalley 6th Ward Chapel, 1106 East 8050 South Sandy, Utah. A viewing will take place on Thursday March 6, 2014 from 6 to 8 pm at Midvalley 6th Ward Chapel, 1106 East 8050 South Sandy, Utah. Interment, Utah Veterans Cemetery, Bluffdale, Utah.
