Leutu Maumasi Lilomaiava

February 26, 1926 - December 15, 2013

February 1926 - December 2013 Leutu Maumasi Lilomaiava was born February 26th, 1926 in Fuailolo'o Mulifanua, Western Samoa. She was born to Ta’etuitui Su’a and Mareko Matia Maumasi. She has 5 sisters, 2 brothers and was the 3rd youngest. Leutu was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held various callings in the church throughout her life. Some of which includes being a seminary teacher, young women leader and counselor in the stake relief society. Leutu had many talents. She enjoyed music and played the piano. Above all, she loved to sing. Even into her late eighties, her grandchildren recall how loud and proud she would sing. She consistently kept a journal, so we will be able to enjoy, for years to come, the experiences she wrote about. Many a morning, she could be found reading, catching up on the latest news. Leutu was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by her 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son (Francis Te’o); granddaughter (Emeline Leutu Te’o), and son-in-law (William Purcell). She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and ward members. Funeral Services will be held at the Mapusaga Ward on 3970 S. 5200 W. in West Valley City. Saturday December 21st. The Family Service at 9:00-10:30 a.m; followed by the Bishop Service from 11:00-12:00 p.m. The Burial will take place at Valley View Cemetery, West Valley City, Utah, at the conclusion of the church services. Services under the direction of Peni T. Malohifo'ou of Serenity Funeral Home Draper, Utah
