Lois Ruth Shields Brown Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lois Ruth Shields Brown passed away June 20, 2015 at Holladay Healthcare Center. She was born Oct 7, 1924 in Salt Lake City to Fredrick James and Ruth Isaacson Shields. She married her eternal companion Leland J. Brown June 22, 1948 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and together they raised four children. Lois always enjoyed her role as homemaker, and excelled at cooking, sewing, all types of hand work, and gardening. She has been an active members of the LDS church and enjoyed serving in Primary and Relief Society as well as doing family history. Her family was always her first priority and greatest source of happiness, and they have great memories of happy times together camping and boating. Lois and Lee enjoyed many years after retirement filled with travel, fishing, golf, square dancing, enjoying new hobbies and especially making friends wherever they went. Her influence will continue with us. She is survived by four children, Rebecca (Delwyn) Roper, Debra, Kendall (Stacie) and Randall (Hillary), 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Proceeded in death by her husband Leland, brother Richard, parents and stepfather Charles Schumacher. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Oak Hill LDS Chapel 895 W 4800 S Taylorsville, Utah. A viewing for family and friend will be held Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Oak Hill LDS Ward and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will follow at the Murray City Cemetery.
