Marilyn Diane Kimball McKenna 1937-2018. Loving Mother, Grandmother and Sister passed away at home on Sunday, February 4, 2018 surrounded by family in West Valley City, Utah after a long courageous fight with Cancer. She was the firstborn to Ernest Coulam and Belle Dorius Kimball on August 14, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Marilyn loved doing anything that involved her sons and/or grandchildren. She was a very caring and compassionate person, always willing to serve where she could. She sacrificed much for her children and grandchildren whom she always put first before her own needs. She loved art, a passion she shared with her sister (Kay) and Dad. In addition to loving her family, she loved animals and owned many dogs and cats throughout her life. In her early years, she loved working summers in Lake Tahoe. She attended Brigham Young University, and later married Jerry Dean McKenna with whom she had two sons, Mark and Bryan. Before retiring, she enjoyed working in various positions for the State of Utah at the Capitol, Governor’s Mansion, and the State Tax Commission. She is survived by her children; Mark Craig McKenna and Bryan Jerry McKenna (Fayelynn), her sister Bonnie Kathryn (Kay) Kimball McBeth, her 5 granchildren; Joshua Craig McKenna, Jeremy Mark McKenna, Nicole Brianne Foutz, Abbylynn McKenna, Jacob Bryan McKenna, one great grandson James Colby Foutz, her nieces and nephew; Megan K McBeth, Kristen Kimball, Stephen Kimball, Michelle Amis, Jenny Slabaugh, Shawna Griffiths, Caitlin Roundy, and many great nephews and nieces. We would like to thank the Valeo Hospice Team, her Nurse Reggie, her Aid Kylie, her Social Worker PJ, and the Chaplain Lisa for the compassionate way they cared for and loved our Mother.
