Mavis Leona Kelley

November 12, 1946 - March 20, 2022

Mavis Leona Kelley, beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend passed away on March 20, 2022 after a valiant struggle with Alzheimer's Disease for many years. Mavis was born on November 12, 1946. It was love at first sight for Paul. He would go into Mavis’ place of work just to see her beautiful face. After their first date, they knew that they were meant for each other. They were married soon after. Mavis and Paul were married on May 28, 1966 in Syracuse, New York. They absolutely adored each other throughout their entire marriage. Mavis was very involved in the LDS church and service work. She was a Stake Young Women’s President, Stake Relief Society President, Seminary teacher, and a Missionary. She devoted her whole life to the LDS church and loved serving and all of her callings. Mavis and Paul were called to serve a mission together locally and loved serving together. Mavis was known for her outstanding cooking. She cooked delicious meals everyday for her family. She loved to cook and bake even when she was a young girl. She always loved baking with her grandchildren. “I baked cookies with Grammy” is what all the grandchildren would say. Mavis always looked forward to cooking a big meal and having family dinner on Sundays. She absolutely loved singing with the Choral Arts Society of Utah. She would invite all of her family to her concerts. The grandkids would get so excited when they would see their Grammy singing on stage. One of the highlights of her singing with this group was their trip to Carnegie Hall in New York City. Her favorite singer of all time was Josh Groban. She attended three of his concerts and even got to touch his hand. Towards the end of her journey, one of the only things that would bring her peace when she was anxious or scared was conducting and singing with Josh Groban on YouTube videos. Mavis is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband Paul. Mavis is survived by her five children: Kimberly Lynn Kelley, Kristen Lee Kelley, Kathlene Lynelle Kelley Williams (Mark), Kandice Lon Kelley Lovato (Roy), Kenton Thomas Harold Kelley (Cari), and her sister Kathy Stager. Grandmother of Jameson, Noah, Ava, Nicholas, Abigail, Noel, Marcus, Zinnia, Nash, and Zane. Mom, you are missed dearly by your family and friends. You will forever be in all of our thoughts and hearts. We all love and miss you so much Mom/Grammy. You can now be at peace with Dad/Grampy. Until we meet again. Rest in peace.
