Moliani Hala-Ki-'Umata Moli

August 20, 1943 - May 25, 2015

Moliani Hala-Ki-'Umata Moli, also known as Uha Moala, passed away peacefully at home on Memorial Day, May 25, 2015. Uha was born August 20, 1943, to Paula Moli and Ana Fifita Moala, in Vaini, Tongatapu, Tonga. She was raised in Ha’afeva, Ha’apai, and spent most of her adult life in Ngele’ia, Nuku’alofa, Tonga. She married the late Sione Mahe Fifita of Koloa and Okoa, Vava’u, son of Viliami Tautua’a and Melesinisa Fifita. Together Sione Mahe and Uha had nine children. Sione Mahe and Uha raised all of their children on the little island of Koloa in Vava’u. Uha was loved and respected by all people of this little island. She loved Koloa as she loved Ha’afeva, Ha’apai where she was raised. Sione Mahe passed away in the late 1980s. Later, Uha and all of their children were sealed to him in the Nuku’alofa Tonga Temple. Uha moved to the US in 2000 and never returned to Tonga. In her later years, she married Lisiate Pohahau of Niutoua, Tongatapu. Uha was the most happy when she was with her grandchildren, and they loved to be with her, as well. She was very faithful, reading from her Bible every day. She had a strong testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Uha is survived by her children: Vika Palapu Mokofisi (Sione Mokofisi); Viliami Tautua’a Fifita (Siosi Taunaholo); Vetekina Fifita; Kamilaki Fifita (Katoalu Faleafa); Sione Tau’a’alo Fifita (Kimberly Gibby); Denny Sione Mahe Fifita (Atelaite Fifita); Fe’ofa’aki Fifita (Dane Fifita); and Emili Oto Fifita (Fatai); and numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sione Mahe, and her son, Tevita Vea. Ke 'iate koe 'a e 'Otua, kae 'oua ke tau toe fetaulaki. Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at the Mt. Airey LDS Chapel, 4338 East Inverness Lane, Eagle Mountain, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing Saturday prior to the service, 7:00-11:30 am. The interment will take place at Crescent Cemetery, 11105 South State Street, Sandy, Utah.
