Nafira Del Socorro Montes Estrada passed away peacefully at her home on July 26, 2016. She was born in el Carmen de Bolivar, Colombia on December 2nd, 1951 to Juaquin Montes and Catalina Estrada. She married Jorge Velasco and together they had a daughter, Katherine (Velasco) McCraley. Nafi came to visit her daughter in April 2015 when she fell ill and she was unable to return to her home country. While she was here, Nafi had many wonderful moments with her daughter and her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Kathy, her two grandchildren Camilo and Isabella, her sister Lilia “Shirley” and her nieces and nephews in Colombia. Nafira was preceded in death by her parents, her Brother Roger Montes and her sister Bettina Montes. Funeral Services to be held at: Herriman 1st Ward 12737 South 6000 West, Herriman UT, 84065 Date: August 2, 2016 Viewing will start at 9:00 am followed by the funeral services. Nafi nacio en el Carmen de Bolivar, Colombia, el 2 de Diciembre de 1951 hija menor de Juaquin Montes y Catalina Estrada. Contrajo matrimonio con Jorge Velasco y juntos tuvieron una hija, Katherine (Velasco) McCraley. Nafira vino a visitar a su hija en Abril del 2015 tiempo en el cual empezo a hacer nuevas memorias con su hija y sus nietos hasta cuando tuvo una isquemia cerebral imposibilitandola para realizar muchas actividades e incluso para regresar a Colombia. Le sobreviven su hija Kathy, sus dos nietos Camilo e Isabella, su hermana Lilia “Shirley” y sus sobrinas y sobrinos en Colombia. Fue precedida en muerte por sus padres, su hermano Roger Montes,y su hermana Bettina Montes.
