Nancy Jean Parkinson Mortensen February 12, 1954 - May 30, 2020 Nancy was born to Clifton A. and Jean G. Parkinson in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was the youngest of 4 children. She was the spoiled one of the bunch and always a daddy’s girl. Nancy grew up in West Valley City attending Granger Elementary, Westlake Junior High where she met her husband Paul of 47 years. Nancy then went on to graduate from Granger High in 1972. Paul and Nancy married in September 1973. In 1975 they had their son Jeffrey Paul and in 1978 their daughter Angie Lynn. Nancy worked many different jobs, making draperies, banking, escrow and home mortgages. Nancy was always a dedicated and hard worker wherever she worked she formed many lifelong friends. Nancy is survived by husband Paul, children Jeffrey and Angie (Manuel) her six grandchildren Moriah (Raul), Parker (Megan), Jesus, Damon, Josheanna, Mackenzie and her three great grandchildren Donovin, Aria, Kiano. Brother Bill (Robyn), sister Susan (Joe) and second mother Rachael and siblings, Joshua (Heather), Rebecca, Ruth. And many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by both parents, brother Paul and great granddaughter Bea. The family would like to give a big thanks to her doctors, staff, and hospice care with Intermountain Cancer Specialist. Services will have limited chairs at the cemetery. If you would like to bring your own. Services will also be streamed through Serenity Funeral Home and Nancy’s Facebook live. Viewing and Family Prayer: Thursday, June 4th at 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1380 W. 6785 South, West Jordan, UT. Graveside Service: Thursday, June 4th at 12:30 PM at the Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S. Vine St, Murray, UT. In lieu of flowers donate to cancer society or your favorite charity.
