Pulemau Sola Sai'a
April 21, 1943 - March 12, 2015
Pulemau Sola Sai’a, 71, returned to his heavenly home on March 12, 2015 after a valiant battle with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Pulemau was born to the late Sai’a Sola and Talaia Tupa’ilesa, a humble carpenter and teacher, respectively, in Tuana’i, Western Samoa on April 21, 1943. Upon completing his education at Afega Primary School and Maluafou College in Samoa, Pulemau was baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 19, 1958 in Pesega. He was blessed with a call to serve a mission as a carpenter for the Church, where he learned how to paint from Elder Wilson Oleni. Following his service, he met his first wife Colleen Brown and had two adorable children, Ieremia and Colleen. After the passing of his beloved wife, Colleen, he married Fiapa’ipa’i Sao and had three beautiful daughters: Solialofi, Luafaletele, and Caroleen. Their marriage mutually ended after 22 years. Pulemau was blessed to find love again when he married the lovely Peati Tanuvasa on May 10, 2001. He adopted Peati’s five children and lived a wonderful and happy life as a husband and father, until his last breath. Pulemau is survived by his wife, Peati; son, Steve; daughters, Rose, Peati, A’ana, Rita; and his grandson, Efrain Perez. He is also survived by his five oldest children; two sisters, Solialofi Papali’i (Papali’itele Tuaimalo Pisimaka) and Opetera De La Cruz (Robert); and four brothers: Sai’a F. AhLoe (Penina Afualo), Kerisiano Teloma (Maria), Apelu Enesi (Sopo), and Enesi Teloma Tupa’ilesa.
