Sandra Gabrielle Rogers, after a three month struggle with brain cancer, passed away at home with her family surrounding her on November 4, 2015 in Lehi, Utah. Sandy was born January 6, 1946 in Los Angeles California later moving to Palo Alto CA. From her youth, her passions were horses and the outdoors, including her adventures as a girl scout. At a young age she discovered and joined the LDS church, causing a big change in the direction of her life. After high school, Sandy moved to Utah, attended and graduated from BYU with a bachelors’ in education. She later went on to earn her Masters degree in education. She married and raised her family of 8 children in Lehi, Utah. Sandy became a much-loved teacher at Riverview Jr. High where she taught geography. She was active in her church and devout in her beliefs. She was a loyal friend and neighbor, well known for her listening ear, big hugs and quirky sense of humor. Sandy was a fun loving person through and through, always looking forward to the next family get together, party or vacation. She enjoyed movies and the mountains, Italian food, dark chocolate and especially a good book to read. Everyone who knew her loved Sandy and she loved everyone in return. She will be sadly missed. Sandy is survived in death by her eight children: Tamara (Jason) Johnson; Deanna (John) Nielson; Carl (Debbie) Rogers; Daniel (Tiffany) Rogers; Steven (Robyn) Rogers; Tricia (Brandon) Karren; James Rogers; Amy (Dan) Murray. Her sisters: Aleta (Steve) Clark; Sherrie (Steve) Chester; Alice (Dave) Drane; her brother Robert Perry and 19 grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother Rita Ault, father Patrick Owens, adopted father Louis Perry and brother Kenneth Douglas. The viewing will be held Friday November 13 at the Snow Springs ward; 1680 west 700 south Lehi, UT. from 6:30 to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the same location Saturday November 14, 2015 at 10:00am with a family viewing at 9:00am.
