Shauna Slavens Polson
June 7, 1961 - January 5, 2020
Shauna Slavens Polson, 58, of Firth Idaho passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on the afternoon of Sunday, January 5th in West Jordan, Utah after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Salt Lake City to Harry Simmons and the late Luana Larsen on June 7, 1961. She graduated from North Sevier High School, class of 1979 but lived the majority of her adult life in Idaho. After marrying Arthur Polson in 2004, she moved from Idaho Falls to Firth, Idaho. Shauna was a home economics teacher for many years before earning her Masters in high school counseling at Idaho State University. Her natural ability to help others led her into real estate as well. She worked as a counselor at Shelley High School followed by Hillcrest High School until her health required her retirement. Shauna is survived by her children Adam, Alexa, and Tanner from her marriage to the late James K Slavens; her husband Arthur and step children Derek, Garrett, Justin, and Jennifer as well as her father Harry and sisters Karrie, Christi, Robin, and Jackie. She lived a rich life full of hard work, bargain shopping, Diet Pepsi, and spoiling her grandkids. Shauna will forever be remembered for her break out cheer routines, her obsession with recycling, and her ability to make everyone around her feel loved and important. A celebration of life will be held in Shauna’s honor at 744 n 600 e Firth, Idaho 83236 on Friday, Jan. 10th at 6:00PM. Her viewing will be held on Sat. Jan. 11th at 8137 Echo View Dr, West Jordan, UT 84081 at 10AM. Her funeral will follow at 12:00PM.
