Our dear friend and sister Sherry Martin finished her mortal journey on Thurs 30 July 2020. I bet she’s having a joyful reunion with her Mom and family who’ve crossed the veil ahead of her! Sherry and I were close friends for over 11 years. She had a stroke before we met that cost her the ability to use half her body & talk. That didn’t slow her down one bit! We had amazing conversations and adventures! Sherry saw the good in almost everything and everyone. If my car broke down and were were waiting for AAA, she’d notice people holding hands or being kind to each other. When I told her I was going hiking in the Uinta’s she wanted to go. She came with me, grabbed the back of my belt with her good hand and we had fun hiking in the wilderness. If we came across someone in need she wanted to help in any way she could. A hug, some food, a listening ear, what ever it may be. She had the rare ability (maybe a gift of the Spirit?) to take joy in other peoples successes and accomplishments. When new grandchildren came into my life, she was thrilled! If a neighbor landed a new job, she wanted to congratulate them. She was always thankful and gracious. Truly a pleasure to be around. Sherry LOVED the music at church! (I wouldn’t be surprised if she sneaks back to listen now and then!) One week she was hurting and unable church. When I told her about Brother Rodriguez’s piano solo that day, she cried because she missed it. She wanted to greet her ward family and make sure everyone that she knew was there and okay. If any were missing, she had me texting and emailing to be sure they were okay. I’d like to thank so many people for loving and serving our dear sister, Sherry. You know who you are. From making her new dentures, delivering early morning chocolate chip pumpkin bread, building a wheel chair ramp, fixing their swap cooler, bringing many dinners (that were appreciated and enjoyed!), cleaning up her yard, to helping her clean up after the water heater broke. Most of all thank you to the people who taught her the gospel, for the hugs and visits. Plz know you made a positive difference in the life of a truly amazing women.
