October 12, 1967 - August 5, 2018
Sini Elisala Mauinatu age 50, passed away on Friday August 5, 2018 in the Los Alamitos Medical Center @ 3:51am. She returned to our loving Heavenly Father after being surrounded by family. Sini was born of goodly parents whose names were Akenese Akogi Chong Elisala and Elisala Nimarota, on October 12, 1967. She grew up in Vaie'e Safata and moved to California in 1986 to seek more opportunities to grow. There, she met her husband, Aoao Mauinatu and sealed their family for all time and eternity in the Los Angeles Temple on September 21, 1991. Soon after, they were able to build their family by having 4 children and settling their family Bellflower, California. Sini was such a hardworking woman and a valiant servant of the Lord in furthering His kingdom here on the earth. She always knew how to balance her responsibilities as a mother and fulfill her callings in the church. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served as a primary teacher and a counselor in the relief society. She was known as the woman who always ran the kitchen because of her amazing cooking skills. She loved cooking for ward activities, ward camps, and family functions. She was particularly known for her chicken teriyaki, chow mein, and our favorite, faiai eleni. She enjoyed attending the temple every chance she was available. Her wish was to see all her children go through the temple because she knew the eternal blessings that came from it. Everything that she did in life was for her family. In the year of 2015, she moved her family up to Orem, Utah for a better life. At one point, she was juggling 3 jobs all while fulfilling her calling in the church. She was truly a woman of great faith and perseverance. She is survived by her husband: Aoao Mauinatu and their 4 children: Shane, Bernice, Shawn, and Bernadine Mauinatu. In addition, her daughter in law, Heu Mauinatu and 1 beautiful granddaughter, Kambrie Galo Manusiu Mauinatu. Sini grew up with 9 siblings namely: Folasi Laumatia, Pesi Tauilili, Logo Laumatia, Tipeni Laumatia, Euta Elisala, Penina Elisala Fitu, Folau Elisala, Arona Elisala, and Leilagi Lutu. She also loved her Mauinatu family: Alo and Sala Mauinatu. She loved all her nieces and nephews very dearly. She always made sure they knew that her house was a safe haven whenever someone was going through something. Sini was known as the peacemaker in the entire family and always saw the full potential in everyone she came across. Preceded in death by her: Mother, Akenese Akogi Chong Elisala and Father, Elisala Nimarota. Services are under the direction of Peni Malohifo'ou of Serenity Funeral Home.
