Sister Nancy Ann Vea
March 10, 1995 - August 22, 2014
Sister Nancy Ann Vea, 19 was called home to our Father in Heaven on Friday, August 22, 2014 while serving in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission. Sister Vea was born March 10, 1995 in Aurora, Colorado to William Brian Vea and Kaniteli Hamala Vea. Sister Nancy Ann Vea, from the time she came to us here on earth had a unique special spirit within her. She built a special bond with EACH and EVERY individual she came in contact with. Her family was the most important thing to her next to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She was very involved in every aspect of life, which included quality time with family, especially with her niece Kaniteli, seminary/mutual, Polynesian/hip hop dancing, and all types of music. She played competitively in a variety of sports growing up. Her favorite sport being high school and club volleyball. She graduated from Cherry Creek High School, Greenwood Village, Colorado in May 2013. Soon after graduating she started her 1st and only job as a cashier for Wal-Mart to save for her mission. Of which only after a few weeks of starting was promoted to a Customer Service Manager. This is was due to her loyalty, dedication, and excellent customer service attributes. She, to no surprise was loved by a lot of her fellow employees. Sister Vea was a witness to the true miracle of missionary work by, dedicated and faithful servants that brought her family together to be sealed for All Time and Eternity in the Denver Temple on September 29, 2012. It was then that confirmed her decision to serve a full-time mission, due to the amazing blessings she and her family received from missionary work. She had to give back. Always referencing why her favorite hymn was ‘Because I Have Been Given Much’. Although she was the 3rd child/oldest daughter of 5 children, she was always the person her siblings along with all her many cousins looked up to--always living by a true example of a daughter of a Heavenly Father. She always stood for the right where nobody could question. She accepted her calling to serve a full time mission in the Oklahoma Tulsa Mission on April 2014 with 4 weeks to prepare and report to the MTC-Provo on May 21, 2014. Despite it being very difficult for the family and Sister Vea to see her leave home in a short amount of time, Sister Vea knew how important this new journey was and nothing, not even her family was going to change her mind. Her 1st mission area was 2 weeks following, on June 4, 2014 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Her weekly emails and letters of her testimony and missionary experiences were truly amazing. It reinforced her family to strive to be that much better and to do their part as she so faithfully did hers. The Lord’s work was something she proudly took on with full force. She was diligent and truly believed without a doubt that, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, Jesus Christ lives, and Families are Forever therefore she knew she had to share her knowledge and testimony with the world. We truly believe that because of her worthiness, righteousness, and willingness to serve the Lord is why she has been called home for a GREATER work. She will always and forever be loved and remembered by many. Her legacy will live on forever in our hearts and minds. In a recent conversation with her Sr companion Sister Peterson on August 14, 2014 nearing transfer, she wrote ‘Sister Petersen, I have this feeling that I’ll be leaving you and that we won’t be together anymore, but don’t worry. You’ve taught me everything I need to know and I’m ready.’ WE LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH OUR SWEET SISTER NANCY ANN VEA… Survived by her parents William Vea and Kaniteli Hamala Vea; brothers Mesui Sione, Rodney Tuipulotu (Amelia Fifita), and William Brian Vea; sister Losaline Mounga; Nieces Kaniteli and Olivia; Grandparents Simote and Ana Vea, Hausia Hamala, and Losaline Mounga Halaliku; ‘Thee Trio’ cousins/sisters Eti Si’I and Taisy, many cousins, uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews and friends.
