Vaima'ali Mounga Kalapa, 46 years old passed away on March 22,2021 in West Jordan, Utah. He was born on January 27,1975 in Nukualofa, Tonga to Timote Kalapa and Tupou Lotolangi Tukumoeatu. And met his longtime girlfriend Julia Agresor in Honolulu,Hawaii. While living in Hawaii Vai worked as a landscaper at a young age then worked on a boat curise as a caterer, then moved on to work at a seafood company where he would cut and prepare fresh seafood to be shipped out to the local stores and resturants. He would also do some side jobs as a mechanic, helping friends and family with thier vehicles whenever they had an issue with it. After living in Hawaii for many years he then moved to Utah where he would reside until his final days. He was known as Big V, and whenever there was a BBQ going on and Vai was cooking, everyone knew the food was going to be bomb or as we say it in Hawaii "Onolicious". Once you tried his Mochiko Chicken, you would want more. He knew how to enjoy and have fun whenever and wherever there was a party. If you knew Vai you would know he was a humble giant, if he could help you he would try his best. He will never be forgotten, he will always be in our hearts ! We love you Dad, it's not a Goodbye it's a I'll see you later. Please continue to watch over us. Ofa Lahi Atu He is survived by his longtime girlfriend Julia Agresor, his 6 children Sherisse Kalapa-Agresor, Keola Kalapa-Agresor, Lotolangi Tupou Kalapa-Agresor, Ane Kalapa-Agresor Podhila, Jano Kalapa-Agresor and Havika Kalapa-Agresor. His granddaughter Salote Holani and another granddaughter on the way. His parents Timote Kalapa and Tupou Tukumoeatu. His 12 siblings Tuilauata Kalapa, Heleni Kela Kalapa Mataele, Ane Lasini Kalapa Naulu, Sano Kalapa, Timote Ofa Ki Vahanoa Kalapa, Fusiheimoana Kalapa Kuma, Tui Kalapa, Meleane Kalapa, Shawn Kalapa, Lavinia Kalapa, Aleki Tukumoeatu and Moana Tukumoeatu. I remember as a child we all cruise around the island, spending time together as a family. Alot of Good memories will not fade. You accepted my marriage and my husband. I'm super grateful that I have you as my dad. No matter how old I get, I will never stop needing you. You will always be my dad and my friend. I miss you so much I cry.
