Wilma Crise

Wilma Eugenia (Sieckman) Crise Cottonwood Heights—Wilma Crise, 89, our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, fell asleep in death September 25, 2014. Born August 14, 1925, Irvington, Illinois, to William F. & Flora O. (Pfohl) Sieckman. Married Francis X. Barberousse, Jr. Divorced January, 1948. On April 13, 1964, Wilma married Frank Crise in Evanston, Wyoming. Wilma grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, attending West High School. She worked at Walgreens Cosmetic Department until 1964 when she married Frank. Frank’s employment as a Union organizer took them to New Haven, Connecticut, followed by several years in St. Louis, Missouri. After Frank’s retirement, they moved back to Salt Lake City to be near family. Wilma was talented at making quilts and enjoyed giving them to friends. She loved cooking and entertaining friends & family. She was famous for her spaghetti sauce and meatballs. She was known for her hospitality. Friends knew they could always drop by for coffee. She was fond of taking care of her vegetable garden. Wilma will be remembered for her generosity and by the many to whom she provided assistance over the years. Wilma had been a faithful member of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 59 years, most recently attending the Sandy, Utah congregation. A highlight of Wilma’s life was attending the International Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Athens, Greece, in August, 1998. Survivors: daughter, Diane (Barry) Ruhlander, grandchildren, Charles (Michelle) Willis, Monica (Chad) Sorensen, Veronica (Chris) Nelson, Frank (Jaleen) Willis, Marcie Willis, & Michael Willis, many great-grand children, nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Frank Crise, sisters, Louise Sieckman, Betty Mckendrick, Dorothy Salinas, Virginia Roth, and Ethel Vasquez. The family wishes to thank the team at First Choice Home Health & Hospice who provided such kind and valuable care to Wilma for the last year and one-half. Memorial Services will be held Saturday, October 4, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at the Sandy Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 9936 S. 300 E. Sandy.
