Alinta Laibwij

January 31st, 2024 at 11:18pm, Alinta Laibwij, age 66, took her last breath peacefully at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Alinta was born on November 27th, 1957 to Rookie Hiram and Julia Jones at Laura, Marshall Islands. But was adopted by Tebra and Nebin Mack. She had 4 full blood siblings, 6 half siblings and 2 siblings from her adopted parents. She grew up in Laura where she met the love of her life and her ever-lasting husband, Widmer Laibwij. On June, 16th 1986, they made a promise to forever and started their journey together. They started with 1 kid and then had 7 more kids (Rod, Fredly, Carlmer, Frederick, Junior, Soynia, Mertha and Rebecca). They raised their kids at Laura up until 2000 when they decided to leave their homeland and start a new life in the States. They fell in love with the community and decided to settle down in Springdale, AR. From then on, they raised their kids and their grandkids. They didn’t just live in Springdale but they also lived in Berryville, AR. They lived there for a very long time and it became their second home. In 2013, she and Widmer moved to California for better health care with their eldest son and daughter in law, Rod and Juto Hax and their family. They enjoyed California and lived their lives to the best there. But in 2016, they packed up again for the last time and left for a new beginning in Utah with their second daughter and son in law, Mertha and Noel Bolkeim alongside with their kids. Alinta enjoyed her life in Utah, she was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-Day Saints. She was always singing, laughing and loved going to church, events and traveling. Alinta was always going back and forth from Utah to Cali and Arkansas just so she could visit her kids and grandkids that lived in those states. Alinta created a big family and was the matriarch of the family. She was the glue that kept the whole family and everything together. While Widmer was financially providing for the family, she stayed home and made sure everything was running smoothly. She is survived by her 8 kids, 30 grandkids and 11 great grandkids. She was our homemaker.
