Calvin Clark Hutchings

Calvin “Clark” Hutchings, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and proud Vietnam veteran, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 26, 1948, in Provo, Utah to Calvin Bird and Margaret Clark Hutchings. He attended and graduated Hillcrest High School (1966) and attended BYU. He married the love of his life, Regina Lee Rowley, March 5, 1969 in Honolulu Hawaii. Clark lived a life defined by hard work, service, laughter, and love. A man of deep integrity and faith, he believed that a person’s word and workmanship reflected their character—and he lived by that standard every day. Clark proudly served his country as Sergeant during the Vietnam War (1967-1969) where his courage and dedication exemplified his lifelong sense of duty and patriotism. He earned a Bronze Medal and continued to honor and support fellow veterans throughout his life, teaching his family to respect those who serve and the freedoms they protect. A hardworking man by nature, Clark built a long and respected career in construction. Known for doing things “the right way,” he was a loyal and dedicated employee who later became an independent consulting contractor—sharing his knowledge and experience with others. His work ethic and integrity were lessons he passed down to his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandchildren. Clark was a no-nonsense kind of guy—until it was time for nonsense, and then he was right there. He believed there was a time and place for everything, and he lived by that balance. Though serious when it mattered, He could turn even a simple Saturday into something special—like a trip to the city dump followed by a cold drink and a candy bar. After a long day of work, he loved celebrating with his family over barbecues, game nights, and big bowls of ice cream. Clark’s family was everything to him. He made it his mission to bring his grandchildren together and create the best life he could for them. He planned fishing trips to the ocean, adventures collecting sea glass and shells, and even taught them the art of spitting on rocks to see what treasures they’d found. His storytelling was legendary—full of tales about Sasquatch and the unforgettable Booger Bob (if you know, you know). His grandkids will always remember making the perfect flan, turkey shoots, and delivering hams together at Christmas. Generous and kind, Clark quietly helped anyone in need and always looked for ways to serve others. Clark’s legacy of integrity, faith, service, hard work, and humor will live on through the countless lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him. Survived by his wife, Regina Lee Hutchings; his five daughters: Michelle Landry (Aron), Heather Silver, Tiffany Pardoe (Derk), Amber Miller (Chris), and Meredith Gundry (Cameron); 18 grandchildren: Connor Pardoe (Carli), Chase Silver (Brooke), Olivia Schow (Parker), Maddie Brasher (Brock), Braxten Pardoe (Madi), Kitai Landry, Trey Silver, Sophia Gundry, McKinna Medina (David), Gabriel Landry, Emme Silver, Bridger Gundry, Burke Miller, Maycee Pardoe, Savannah Miller, Finn Gundry, Xander Gundry, and Bodee Miller; and 9 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his grandson, Asher Landry. “Always Be Happy” Funeral Services will be on Thursday, October 23rd, at 11:00 A.M. at the South Mountain 4th Ward, 1911 E Gray Fox Dr, Draper, Utah. A viewing will take place on Wednesday night, October 22, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the South Mountain 4th Ward and Thursday morning, prior to the funeral from 10:00 A.M. to 10:45 A.M. Interment will be at the Utah Veteran's Memorial Park, 17111 S Camp Williams Rd, Bluffdale, Utah, with Military Honors at 12:30pm.
