David Arthur Walker

David Arthur Walker, 67, passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2024 at his home in West Jordan, Utah. David was born November 6,1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Richard Arthur Walker and Margaret Elaine Nielsen Walker. He was sealed to Gretchen Paula Grafelman Walker on April 26, 1980 in the Salt Lake Temple. He is survived by his wife Gretchen; three sons Adam(Sharon), Paul(Erika), Kyle(Melissa); 9 grandchildren, Ariel(Izac), Siko, Dakota, Lukas, Leo, Kamberlie, Owen, Amelia, Addison; 1 great granddaughter, Evie; 6 siblings Mary(Johnny), Daniel(Pamela), Michael(Erin), Dale(Leah), Diana(Mark), Susan(Doug). David grew up in Murray, Utah and lived the last 33 years of his life in West Jordan, Utah. He graduated from Murray High School in 1975. He studied electronic engineering at Salt Lake Community College. David served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Hawaii, Honolulu mission. He later served with Gretchen as missionaries in the Salt Lake Intercity Mission. He started his career working for ZCMI as electrical technician, then work for 27 years as a telecommunications technician for Tritel Communications. David was a loving husband, father, and devoted grandfather. He raised his sons to love the gospel of Jesus Christ and led by example. He loved growing up in Utah and enjoyed outdoor activities such as bicycling, hiking, and camping. He loved his mission in Hawaii and took his family back many times to visit. David was known for his kindness and patience. He devoted his entire life to serving those around him. He showed his love by serving family, friends, and neighbors. A viewing will be held Sunday, May 19 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 8136 South Old Bingham Highway West Jordan, Utah A viewing will also be held Monday, May 19th from 11:00am – 12:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 8173 S 3200 W West Jordan. It will be followed by funeral services from 12:30 – 1:30pm. Interment will be held at West Jordan City Cemetery at 2:00pm.
