Diane Pearson Mackey

Diane was born to Dwain John and Olive Ogden Pearson on November 4, 1935 in Salina Utah. Diane and her siblings grew up in Richfield Utah where she attended Richfield High School. She and her 8 high school friends famously formed an exclusive club they named the Solar System with each representing a planet. Fittingly, Mom was Venus. The group remained life long friends and held regular reunions over the years. If you look to the east in the pre dawn autumn sky you will see her brilliantly shining down on us. Diane attended Utah State University and later married her high school sweetheart Gordon Frank. Together they had 3 children Melanie, Pearson & Carter. Diane devoted her life to her children and loved nothing more than to have them close. One of Diane‘s greatest God-given qualities was the ability to listen. She had the capacity to listen with love and empathy, especially with her children and grandchildren. She also shared this gift with extended family and friends. It was often the case that at family gatherings you could spot her sitting alone with one of her nieces or nephews just having a talk. There was nothing better than having a talk with Mom, Nana, Aunt Diane. Diane had a love for design and photography. Her sense of style was evident in everything she touched from her dress to her homes and businesses. Diane owned The Wildflower gift shops, that started in the Hilton Hotel and grew to two other locations. She always filled it with unique items that drew a clientele not only from hotel guests but many loyal customers in the local community. Her sense of design was also evident in her photography in which she had a natural gift for composition with architecture and people. She spent many hours in her dark room developing her photos which she proudly displayed. Diane married Charles Mackey in 1988. Together they traveled for his work to all corners of the United States and world which opened up many opportunities for capturing images to print. As the digital age came about she taught herself how to edit photos which opened up a new side of photography for her to enjoy. Diane is survived by her children Melanie Watson (Dave), Pearson Frank (Sharon), Carter Frank. Grand Children Laura (Brian) , Kody (Maddie), Sam, Savannah (Nick), Cheyenne, and great grandson Archar. Siblings Randy Pearson (Linda) Garnet Johnson, Mary Kay (Claire) Carling, Patrice Erickson, Clark Pearson (Jamie). She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Rikard Pearson and Carolyn Hansen.
