Douglas P Farley

Douglas P. Farley, age 78, passed away on May 3rd, 2021 in his home in West Valley. He bravely fought leukemia. He was born May 6th, 1942, in Salt Lake City to Owen and Avis Farley. He married, his sweetheart, Lell Davis. They were married, Aug, 28th , 1959 in the Wells ward in Salt Lake City. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple for all time and eternity on Dec. 17th, 1963. Doug bought his home at the age of 17 and has lived in that same home until the day he died. He took the challenge of raising a family in that home. The home was filled with love and respect. He was a hard worker and it showed in everything he did. Doug was a brick mason and did amazing work. His work was always done neat and beautifully. He loved his family and he always strived to keep them together with camp trips and fun activities. His family was and is his pride and joy. Doug was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and took joy in serving in various callings. Doug made the best Santa, with his bright blue eyes and his red cheeks and his great ho ho ho. He loved hunting with his family and he loved being outdoors. He taught that even when things are tough, you just keep going. Doug is survived by Lynette (Mel) Heap in Riverton, UT, Richard (Sandy) in Grantsville, UT, Wendy Lund in West Jordan, UT, David (Teresa) Farley in West Valley, UT, Dan (Tracy) Farley in West Jordan, UT and Russell (Christie) Farley, St. George, UT, 42 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and brother Bill (Mary) Farley in Sandy, UT. Doug is proceeded in death by his wife, Lell Farley, his parents Owen and Avis Farley, Brother Brent Farley and great granddaughter Sadie Hardman. The funeral will be May 8th at 11:00 am at Decker Lake ward at 2101 W. 3100 So, in West Valley UT. A viewing will be before the funeral at 9:30 – 10:30. There will also be a viewing on Friday night, May 7th, between the hours of 6-8 at the Decker Lake Ward. Interment will be at the Heber City Cemetery. Masks and social distancing will be encouraged.
