Jeffery Curtis Findley

Jeffery Curtis Findley returned to his heavenly home on October 28, 2025. Jeff was born on September 5, 1952, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Arthur Eugene and Jane Darlene Findley. They divorced shortly after his birth. He was raised by his loving mother with the help of her family in the Brickyard area of Salt Lake City, Utah. Jeff attended local schools and graduated from Granite High School in 1971. He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Gulf States Mission from 1971 to 1973. In March of 1974, he met Janet Lee Barton. During their first date, he thought "I could marry this girl." Jeff and Janet were married December 6, 1974, in the Salt Lake City temple. In November of 1975, they welcomed their daughter Raelyn. Two more daughters followed: Julie in July of 1977 and Liz in August of 1979. They raised their family in West Jordan, Utah. Jeff worked hard to support his family. He worked for Utah Transit Authority as a bus driver for twenty-one years. In 1998 Jeff and Janet moved to St. George, Utah to get out of the snow. Jeff went to work for DARTS (Dixie Area Rapid Transport Systems), which later transitioned to SunTran. He worked as a driver/dispatcher and retired in September 2017. In his journal, Jeff said this about his career: "All I have ever wanted to do for a job is drive bus. I got the chance to do it and also be in on the ground floor of the start-up of mass transit in St. George, Utah." Jeff was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in a variety of callings, including the Elders Quorum, ward librarian, and was secretary to 5 consecutive High Priest Group leaders. He and Janet were service missionaries at the ROC (Records Operations Center) in St. George, Utah. Jeff loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, going for drives, and traveling. His favorite place to travel was California. Jeff loved the ocean and riding the mass transit systems. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially the Utah Jazz and University of Utah football. Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Janet; daughters Raelyn Findley, Julie Bollwinkel (Jeffrey), and Liz Wilkinson (Richard); grandchildren Katie, Emma, and Sarah Smith; Penni, Teancum, Aiden, Caeli Camellia Wilkinson; uncle Tom White (Joanne); sister-in-law Nancy Johnson (Sam); and many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Darlene Findley, and son in-law Aaron Smith. The family would like to thank the following: Dr. Brett Muse, Dr. Zachary Reese, Dr. Carrie Willis, the doctors, nurses, and patient care techs of St. George Regional Hospital 2nd Floor West, Intermountain Homecare and Hospice, and Serenity Funeral Home for the excellent care and concern they have provided Jeff and his family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 12pm at Serenity Funeral Home. (13863 S. 2700 W Bluffdale, UT 84065) A viewing will take place prior to the service from 10:30am to 11:30am. Interment to follow at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
