Jerry Keith Allen

Jerry Keith Allen passed away gently at home surrounded by loved ones on January 23, 2023 at the age of 91. Born January 17, 1932 in Salt Lake City to John William Allen and Edna Silvina Beata Berg Allen. Grew up in Salt Lake City, graduated in 1949 from South High School. Married Colleen Corless and had three children: Kathleen, Steven, and Jeffrey. Later divorced. Marrried Carol Reynolds Lewis July 5, 1963, gaining two more sons Michael and Steven Lewis. Working for Goodyear Tire and Rubber, both domestically and internationally gave Jerry and Carol the opportunity to live in Bougainville, New Guinea, Bangkok, Thailand, and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, as well as traveling and working in 39 countries. No one was a stranger to Jerry. He always greeted everyone. He had friends all over the world and had a natural gift to really see people and caring for them. He loved “great big”. Retiring in 1987, Jerry and Carol moved to Mission Viejo, California and later returned home to Draper, Utah. He was a perfectionist known for his attention to detail and his out of the box thinking. He loved a cold beer or a gin martini shared with family and friends. Jerry had unique and keen senses of humor, infectious laughter and disappearing “smiling eyes”. He was fiercely loyal to his family and friends and frequently spoke affectionately of his mother, father and sister. He easily and deeply connected to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. Jerry and Carol had a deep love and appreciation for animals, owning several beloved dogs throughout their marriage. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Carol, children: Kathy Jensen (Russell), Steven Allen (Melanie), Steven Lewis (Michelle), Jeffrey Green (Laura), 67 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great grandchildren and their spouses, daughter-in-law Cheri Lewis. Preceded in death by parents, sister Beverly Newman (Eddie) and son Michael Lewis. Many thanks to their wonderful neighbors and Symbol Hospice Care for their selfless service.
