Leon Randall Hale

Leon Randall Hale, 70, of Rupert passed away May 28, 2014. Leon was born May 28, 1944 in Pocatello, Idaho to Lyman and Luella Hale. He graduated from Pocatello High School, attended BYU for one year before serving a 2 ½ year mission to South Germany for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He then continued his education at the Universtiy of Utah upon his return, studying Theatre Design. He worked for DL Evans in Salt lake in the exhibits department installing the LDS Church's visitor centers. He has also worked at the Osmond Studios, Progressive Dairyman, Mystique Dinner Theatre, was the owner/manager of Design Productions, and worked at Magic Valley Printingn He has been married to Starla Thalman Hale for 37 years. They have lived in Rupert for 25 years. Leon was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in various positions: Scout Master, Elders Quorum President, Ward Clerk and Sunday School President. He also served in both the Boise and Twin Falls Temples for 7 ½ years. He was a member of the local Desert Art Guild for a short time, a past member of the Burley ad Twin Falls Civil Air Patrols, and was original designer of the King's Fine Art Center and Mystique Dinner Theatre. He enjoyed flying, magic, set design, reading, woodworking, and his famly. Leon is survived by his wife, Starla, his children Kevin (Annemarie) Hale, Lehi, UT; Scott (Sandra) Hale, Rupert, ID; Kim (Robby) Hunsaker, Tremonton, UT; Shana (David) Chard, Rupert, ID; Randy Hale, Rupert ID; and Kylee Hale, Rupert, ID. Twelve grandchildren: Taci, Keenan, Marek, Maya, Ireland, Emmy, Nathaniel, Piper, Jayson, Destiny, Christopher, and Italy. His brothers Alan (Carolyn) Hale, Rupert, ID and Garen Hale of Shelley, ID. His sisters-in-law Verna Hale of Pasco, WA and Marba Hale of Toqueriville, UT. He is preceeded in death by his brothers: Gerald Hale, Verle Hale, Norman Hale and James Hale. And his sister-in-laws: Barbara Hale and Ranae Hale. The family would like to thank Leon's many friends, the community, and the Rupert 3rd ward members for their love, friendship and service. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 12:00 noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 3rd Ward, in Rupert. Friends may call on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the church and Saturday from 11:00 until service time at the church. Burial will follow at the Rupert Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Serenity Funeral Home, Draper, UT.
