Louise Larson Martindale

We reverence the passing of Louise Larson Martindale, 28 January 2021 at her home in North Salt Lake, UT; surrounded by her family. Heavenly Father called her home when she succumbed to cancer after six years of determined resistance. She was born 11 June 1948 in Burley, ID to Floyd D. Larson and M. Fae Smith Larson. Louise spent her youth in Burley with seven siblings and graduated from Burley High School. She married Vern L. Martindale 20 July 1966 in the Idaho Falls Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They are the parents of six children: Dawn C. Martindale, North Salt Lake, UT; Ardice K. (Sean) Lorscheider, Alpine, UT; Tymon L. Martindale, Winder, GA; Koreena D. (Daniel) Taualii, Cedar Hills, UT; Monica T. (Michael) Shipley, Pasco, WA; and Brandon S. (Rebekah) Martindale, Pasco, WA. Louise will be remembered for her generous spirit and loving heart, which was full of compassion and service to all those around her. She was a devoted wife and mother and known as the World’s Greatest Grandma. She also served her church and community with equal energy and devotion. Louise was an accomplished seamstress and loved working in the yard tending her impressive flower gardens. It can be said, hers was a life well lived with a legacy to remember. Louise leaves behind her husband of 54 years, 6 children, 18 grandchildren and a granddaughter due in June. She will also be deeply missed by siblings: Lynn Larson, Orem, UT; Evelyn Dayley, Declo, ID; Larry (Phylis) Larson, Burley, ID; Irene Thomas, North Salt Lake, UT; Neal (Delann) Larson, Paul, ID; and Jan Frandsen, Melbourne, FL. She will be fondly remembered by in-laws: Barbara Martindale, Boise, ID; Jean (John) Scholtes, Ontario, OR; Delain Horn, Bremerton, WA; and Lorie (Bill) Bolander Brandon, Paul, ID. She was preceded by her parents and a sister, Patricia Bodily. Immediate family may attend funeral services Saturday, 6 February 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Eagle Ridge Building, 200 S. Eagle Ridge Drive, North Salt Lake, UT. A family viewing will begin at 9:30 before the service. Others may join by internet via a Zoom webinar.
