Olipilisi Lorena Fifita

With heavy hearts we bid farewell to our precious mother Olipilisi Lorena Fifita. leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering devotion. She was a guiding light, a source of endless comfort, and a presence that made every place feel like home. Her life was defined not by the things she owned, but by the love she poured into her family and the lives she touched along the way. Her memory will forever be a blessing, carried tenderly in the hearts of her posterity and all who were loved by her. Olipilisi was born on October 3, 1966 in Vaini, Tonga to Hilamani and Misini Fifita. She was raised in a humble home with 13 siblings. Being the youngest in her family, she was cherished with tenderness and joy, often filling the home with humor and warmth. Her father’s example taught her to work hard & give freely. While her mother instilled in her the importance of putting God first and living with enduring faith. Her upbringing in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is where she firmly established her testimony of the Plan of Salvation, and where her guiding values began. Her family then migrated to Salt Lake City, Utah. She attended South High School and became a devoted member of the Liberty Ward. There she built friendships and created roots that would remain with her throughout her life. While enjoying her early adult years she married Pelisi Foketi Fonua. Although they parted ways, together they shared 8 beautiful children, with the eldest to youngest: Seluvaia Tuamoheloa (Samuela) Funaki Tuamoheloa (Willie) Sione (Haili) Lesieli Tautuiaki (Lopeti) Viliami (Ilaisaane) Sofengi (Puka) Samisoni Hosea She was also blessed to nurture their siblings Hopoate, Soana & Anaseini. Whom she loved and cherished with no distinction. Though her journey was not easy, she found her greatest joy in raising her children, pouring into them all the love she had. She carried both the burdens and the blessings of parenthood with unwavering grace. “Ofa ke mo’oni” & “Ai e kataki ke lahi” was her foundation on which she led them by. Mom gave in countless ways, her greatest passion was cooking for her family, creating traditions and memories that will live on forever. She poured her heart and soul into every meal she prepared. Her table was always full and open to all those around her. No matter the occasion she loved to bring comfort through food. While she loved her kids and cooking, her heart's greatest treasure was her grandkids. She loved to sing and dance with her granddaughters. She also loved to watch her grandsons play sports and was always ready to share a laugh. She was firm in her teachings with them but she showered them with all her love and efforts. Her grandkids always kept her spirits high and her will to enjoy life to the fullest. Her heartbeats and loving grandchildren are from the eldest daughter to her youngest son. Seluvaia; Olirena, Karmelo, Enele, Pelisi, Lusiola, Sela & Seliniesi. Sione; Elder Michael Fonua (Serving in the Tucson, Arizona LDS Mission), Selinesi, Viliami, Sofengi, Jaxson, Ma’ama, Lesieli, Pelisi, & Ramsi. Lesieli; Alekisio, Ana, Tomitila, Fine & Uasike. Viliami; Sione, Seluvaia, Princess, Olirena, Samisoni, Safinati & Soana. Sofengi;Sofia, Iker & Hinemoa. As well as Hopoate; Hosea & Anaseini. Aside from her posterity she always had room in her heart for all her nieces and nephews. She was the loving out going Aunty who was adored for her warmth, laughter, and acceptance she brought into their lives. Her two-year battle with cancer was long and trying, yet she faced it with remarkable courage and grace. She gave every part of herself to the fight—never complaining, never losing sight of the blessings in her life. Even in moments of pain, she found reasons to laugh, to love, and to encourage those around her. Her faith never wavered, carrying her through each trial with strength. Her spirit never fell, shining as a light of hope to all who walked beside her. In the face of suffering, she remained the same woman we always knew—loving, resilient, and steadfast, teaching us through her example what it truly means to endure with dignity and faith. Our beautiful mom was welcomed into eternal rest by her parents Hilamani & Misini, her brothers Leaine & Viliami, her sister Hinemoa, and her precious grandchildren Seliniesi and Pelisi. Mom, We are so proud of you. Thank you for every sacrifice, every lesson, and every bit of love you poured into us. We are who we are because of you. You taught us what it means to live with faith, hope, and charity. You gave us not only love, but the example of a life rooted in grace and service.
