Pele Pati Falo

Our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Pele Pati Falo, age 82 passed away on Sunday April 9, 2017 in American Fork, Utah, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on August 30, 1934 to Falo Tuiofelua Tuisamoa and Faaumatausaga Meredith, in Piula, Western Samoa. Dad attended Marist Brothers School in Western Samoa. He was a skilled carpenter taught by his father and he worked alongside his father building many churches and homes all around Samoa. He was hired by the Government of Samoa as head carpenter. Pati was also a Welterweight Champion boxer for the South Pacific He married the love of his life La’avasa Lafoaluga Salele, May 1962, and together they have seven children, Kerisiano, Pauline, Tui, Pati Kuresa, Arnee Tausaga, Rebeka and Mark. She passed away January 14, 1979 and Dad married Tile Mapesone and together they have four children, Miranda Fenny, Welishia Rosa, Peter Sua and William Logovi'i. They later divorced. Dad left Samoa January 1978 to come to Utah to work and bring his family here. He was employed by RL Construction, after a few years he was employed with Pepsi Cola where he worked and retired. Dad was always good with numbers and was asked to Supervise a crew at Pepsi Cola. He also taught himself to speak Tongan by reading the Tongan bible so he can converse with his co-workers. Dad was born and raised in the Methodist church. On December 7, 1991 he was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by his son Pati Kuresa after his return from the Micronesia Guam mission. His work ethics will forever live with his children, he was hard working and always provided for his family. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Dad is survived by his children, Rarotonga Miti Asalemo (Malae) of Sydney Australia, Kerisiano of Faleu, Manono, Western Samoa, Pauline Falo Matagi (Mose) of West Valley City, Utah, Tui (Lynelle) of West Valley City, Utah, Pati Kuresa (Myrna) of Provo, Utah, Arnee Tausaga of Provo, Utah, Rebeka of San Diego, California, Mark of Payson, Utah, Miranda Fenny Davis (Brian) of Green River, Wyoming, Welishia Rosa of Green River, Wyoming, Peter Sua of Orem, Utah and William Logovi'i of Orem, Utah, sister Lele Falo of Millcreek, Utah. Twenty four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ueli Falo Meredith, sister, Sarai Leiataua, sister, Ofeira Vaomua Wright, brother Ioane, sister, Agalelei, sister, Alofa Hunt. Daughter in law Julie Dixon Falo, grandson Anthony Kulesa Heimuli . Viewing Services will be held on Friday April 14th 2017 at the LDS Chapel on 50 South 800 East in Orem from 10:00am to 11:00am followed by a Bishop Service from 11:30-12:30pm. We wish to thank Heritage Care center, Bristol Hospice for the loving care of Dad. Peni Malohifo’ou of Serenity Funeral Home. Interment by Riverton City Cemetery.
