Funeral Service Link: https://www.youtube.com/live/r0-RcdT1Hv8 Shirley LaRae Price, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2025, in West Jordan, Utah, surrounded by her loving family. She was 80 years old. Born on March 4, 1945, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Shirley was the third of four children of James and Idonna Cannon. She married Kenneth Price on May 2, 1969, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Although they later divorced in 1979, Shirley remained a faithful and endowed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. From a young age, Shirley radiated a vibrant spirit and had a deep appreciation for beauty and the arts. She graduated from Granite High School in 1963 and went on to attend cosmetology school, becoming a professional hair stylist. A true entrepreneur, she opened and operated her beauty salon from the basement of her home. Following her divorce, Shirley returned to the workforce full-time and began a long career at Becton Dickinson, assembling medical supplies. She dedicated over 25 years to the company before retiring. Even in retirement, she continued her hairstyling business part-time until her health declined. Shirley was a gifted artist—she sang, danced, drew, painted, and especially loved writing poetry and songs. Several of her original songs were set to music and recorded, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and heartfelt expression. She also found great joy in traveling the world with family and friends, always seeking beauty, adventure, and inspiration. Among all her accomplishments, Shirley was most proud of raising her three sons as a single mother. She is survived by her sons, Gaylen (Carla) and Glen (Leslie); her grandchildren, Austin, Cameron (Adrienne), Emily (Jace), and Jayden; and her siblings, Sharlene, Jim, and Connie (Bruce). She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Idonna Cannon, and her beloved son, Corey. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Utah and Beehive Homes of West Jordan for their compassionate care during Shirley’s final days. Funeral Services: A viewing will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the chapel located at 2925 East Bengal Boulevard (7800 South), followed by funeral services from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place at Mountain View Memorial Estates, with a luncheon to follow at the church.
