应翠玲 Ying Cui Ling, Lois Krotz

Web Link: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88136496023 Lois was born in Chengdu, China to 应水桃 Ying Shui Tao (Father) and 崔凤兰 Cui Feng Lan (Mother) on May 21,1979. She moved to Wuxi in 1983, then Shanghai in 1985. She attended Shanghai International Studies University from 1997-2001. It was here that she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. Lois met Warren Krotz, the love of her life, in August 2000 in Shanghai while she was working as his interpreter. Lois and Warren were married on August 15, 2002. In 2005, Lois completed her MBA in Finance and International Business from the University of Utah David Eccles School of Business in Salt Lake City. Lois excelled in her career and had a reputation as a superb strategist, compassionate leader, and gifted mentor. After working as a financial analyst for Thorpe Capital Group and Credit Suisse from 2004-2008, she forayed into healthcare as a consultant for Equation Consulting from 2008-2012. In 2012, she transitioned to KLAS Research where she spent nine years directing teams of analysts and delivered over 70 healthcare IT market research reports. Within the company, she was universally recognized by her colleagues as a culture leader and invaluable talent. She moderated and participated in global panels, as well as led discussions with executives and thought leaders across the healthcare IT industry. In January 2023, Lois took a new position as a Senior Director at Workday, Inc. She was warmly welcomed by her new team. Outside of her extensive career, Lois lived a vibrant life filled with diverse interests and an endless bucket list. She enjoyed climbing, hiking, hammock yoga, local gyms, and anything else that allowed her to be active. Lois meditated often and was happy to be in the moment. She loved to travel, adored all animals (especially her dogs, Fei and Guan), and was an avid foodie. She explored the outdoors during all seasons, often cataloging its beauty and inspiration on social media. When Lois posted, you always knew it was going to be beautiful, positive, and insightful. Lois was the life of the party. She welcomed all kinds of adventure. It could be a spiritual retreat in the mountains, or a gangster rap session in her Land Rover. She was always the person to initiate the next experience. People were always drawn to her infectious smile, endless optimism, and steady sense of humor and laughter wherever she went. Above all, Lois’s greatest gift to this world was her example as a compassionate, loving, and loyal friend. She had a passion for people and dedicated much of her energy and time to helping others. She was often called upon to mentor colleagues due to her ability to connect, nurture, and inspire other people. Lois lived life to the fullest in her short time on this earth and inspired others to do the same. She always saw the beauty in life. She embraced life with open arms and grace. She was a force of good, of love, and of light. Lois was the kind of person that made life better for everyone that knew her. Lois, we will forever carry your memory in our hearts. May you rest in peace, Warrior. A celebration of life will be held in her honor on Saturday, June 10th. There will be a viewing from 3:00-4:00 pm, funeral services from 4:00-5:00 pm, and burial at 6:00 pm.
